Billie Eilish and her brother/producer Finneas are taking on new management, shifting to Jason Owen and Sandbox Entertainment. Best Friends Management represented the duo for the past decade.
Sandbox Entertainment, which Owen launched back in 2010, also represents Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini. Owen himself is strongly rooted in country music, having held executive roles at Universal Music Nashville. His “golden touch” in managing female artists has made him a sought-after figure beyond country music.
Owen also expanded into film, stage, and television, working on projects like the 2023 June Carter Cash documentary June, the musical Shucked, and the primetime drama Monarch.
Billie and Finneas were represented by Danny Rukasin and Brandon Goodman at Best Friends Management for the past ten years. Their management played a key role in boosting Eilish to an award-winning household name.
Little is known about the management shift, but reports indicate the “sentiment is that of a somber parting, but there remains a great respect and appreciation for the tremendous successes, milestones, and memories share with Rukasin and Goodman.”
Since her debut in 2015 with her viral single, “Ocean Eyes,” which Finneas wrote, Eilish has seen a continuous upward trajectory. Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, won her the Grammys in 2020 for Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Her subsequent albums, Happier Than Ever and Hit Me Hard and Soft, were also nominated for Album of the Year. Eilish has won nine Grammys of the 32 for which she has been nominated in her career, while Finneas has 10 awards on 21 nominations. The pair also won two Oscars in 2022 and 2024 for the original songs, “No Time to Die” for the James Bond film of the same name, and “What Was I Made For” for the Barbie movie.
Finneas has co-written and produced most of his sister’s songs, as well as working with artists like Justin Bieber, Tate McRae, Halsey, and Selena Gomez.
Billie Eilish is currently preparing for the European leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour, which is scheduled to kick off in Stockholm next month.
