Barry Manilow seemed to have a holly jolly time performing on Wednesday at Rockefeller Center’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Despite the 80-year-old singer being caught up in the holiday spirit while singing “All I Want For Christmas is You” and “Because It’s Christmas,” some Grinches on X trolled his appearance.
Many made fun of his tanned skin and black turtleneck, with one asking: “Does Barry Manilow look like Martin Short in an SNL skit?!”
Another questioned if he’s had work done to his face.
“Plastic surgeon: what do you want lifted? Barry Manilow: yes,” the user quipped.
A third X-er chimed in: “He looks plastic, too much Botox perhaps? He’s way past his prime and should finally retire and lay off the Botox. I wasn’t a fan of his even in the 1970s.”
“WTAF happened to Barry Manilow???? He looks like Edward Scissorhands did his face lifts 🤦♂️🤣,” a person laughed.
“He looks like one of the mice in Cinderella. Sad,” a user wrote.
Someone else interjected: “Barry Manilow can’t move his face at this Rockefeller tree lighting event. His surgeon did a good job tho.”
“Somebody stretched Barry Manilow’s face too tight,” another tweeted.
Many of the “Copacabana 1985” crooner’s fans, however, came to his defense.
“Barry Manilow haters can f – – k all the way off,” one X user raged. “He’s a musical treasure.”
“Barry Manilow singing All I Want For Christmas will FOREVER TOP Mariah Carey’s version,” a second user argued. “Fight me.”
Manilow was one of the many stars to brave the chilly New York air to celebrate the start of the holiday season.
He was joined by Cher, Kelly Clarkson, Rob Thomas, Chloe Bailey, David Foster, Liz Gillies, Seth MacFarlane, Katharine McPhee, Keke Palmer and the Radio City Rockettes.
“I love Christmas, I love it so much,” the “American Idol” alum said onstage as the event host.
“Today” show co-anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin provided spirited commentary for the bash too.
Manilow’s actual holidays plans will be more mellow, as he told Clarkson he’ll be staying home with his dogs.
“I love dogs!” the “Stronger” singer replied. “We should be roommates!”
