Avery Lynch continues to captivate listeners with her heartfelt storytelling in her latest single, ‘the boys who don’t know what they want,’ out now via RECORDS.

‘The Boys Who Don’t Know What They Want’ dives into the emotional complexities of “almost” relationships, where indecisiveness and mixed signals create frustration and vulnerability. Built on Avery’s signature piano-driven style, the track pairs minimalist production with her evocative vocals, delivering a deeply relatable narrative.

Avery explained the inspiration behind the track, saying:

“The title of the song really says it all. I wrote this song about those ‘almost’ relationships that I’ve been in myself and have observed around me — people will act the part of someone in a relationship while not wanting one, or they’ll want a relationship and not act on it. I made this song as a sister-song to ‘you’re just a guy” and, just like that song, this doesn’t feel specifically sad to me, it feels more matter-of-fact. It’s just something I’ve observed that we’ve all experienced and don’t want to experience anymore.”

‘The Boys Who Don’t Know What They Want’ is out now.
