Nine albums later, it seems Armin van Buuren still has a penchant for the unexpected.
The trance legend has announced Breathe In, his ninth studio album. The record will embrace “a more positive sound and a higher BPM” than found in his recent releases, according to a press release shared with EDM.com.
Breathe In, which was written and recorded over the course of roughly two years in the wake of the pandemic, is said to be the next chapter of the narrative van Buuren introduced in 2022’s album trilogy, Feel Again. An ode to his fans and the many dancefloors wherein they reconnected, the album is scheduled to release on January 12th, 2024.
In other van Buuren news, he recently released a new version of “This Is What It Feels Like,” his 2013 hit featuring Trevor Guthrie. The song appeared on a massive remix album released by Armada to celebrate the storied label’s 20th anniversary.
