Apple launches new concert discovery features on Apple Maps and Apple Music with live show curation, browsing venues’ upcoming shows, and more.

Apple has launched new concert discovery features on Apple Maps and Apple Music. As expands its curation efforts into live shows, with new concert discovery features on Apple Maps and Apple Music, it gives fans more ways to connect to their favorite artists.

More than 40 new Guides curated by Apple Music editors on Maps highlight the best venues to experience live music in some of the world’s most prominent culture hubs. From landmark symphony halls to cutting-edge techno clubs, these hand-picked selections currently span over ten cities to provide fans an unforgettable night out.

Apple Music Guides allows fans to browse venues’ upcoming shows directly from Maps with Shazam’s concert discovery module, part of a host of features that Shazam introduced last spring to leverage concert information from event recommendation and artist discovery platform Bandsintown.

On Apple Music, the new Set Lists space shines a light on a selection of significant tours, enabling fans to listen to set lists and read about the productions. For the first time on the app, fans can browse artists’ upcoming shows in their area by launching Shazam’s concert discovery module.

“Apple Music offers the ultimate listening experience for music fans around the world, distinguished in part by its global team of expert curators and lifelong music obsessives who make a point to surface the songs and albums users have to hear,” reads Apple’s statement on the feature release.

Apple Music Guides will be rolling out beginning today on Maps. Featured cities so far include Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York City, and San Francisco in North America, Berlin, Paris, and Vienna in Europe, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney in the Asia-Pacific region, and Mexico City in Latin America.
