Pioneering electronic music producer Aphex Twin is releasing an expanded version of his sophomore album, Selected Ambient Works Volume 2.
The haunting collection, which released in the spring of 1994 via Warp Records, is prevalently considered one of the most influential electronic music albums of all-time. Aphex Twin, whose real name is Richard D. James, today confirmed a special reissue to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Rolling out on October 4th, the expanded version of Selected Ambient Works Volume II will release in all formats, including CD, vinyl and cassette, for the first time. The revamped album will include two new tracks, “th1 [evnslower]” and “Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev,” as well as “#19,” which had only been available on vinyl but is now out digitally. Check out that song below.
Fans can also get their hands on a robust box set with four LPs and plenty of rare trimmings, including a booklet containing sketches of the original artwork by designer Paul Nicholson.
A pre-order window for the Selected Ambient Works Volume 2 box set will be open until 10am BST on June 24th. You can purchase copies here.
