Brazilian star Anitta pulls out of Coachella 2025 due to “unexpected personal reasons.” Tickets for both weekends are still available.

The performance would have been Anitta’s third at Coachella, having first played there in 2022 with guest appearances from Snoop Dogg and Saweetie. She also joined Peso Pluma for his 2024 set.

“I was really looking forward to being at Coachella this year, but due to unexpected personal reasons, I won’t be able to perform,” wrote Anitta on X/Twitter last night. “I’m truly grateful to the festival for the invitation, their understanding, and continued support.”

In another post, she told fans she hoped for an opportunity to join them all at Coachella again in the future to “share that special moment together.”

The pop star has been a frequent collaborator for a number of artists in the past year. Kylie Minogue brought her on stage at the UK’s Hyde Park for a duet of “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.” Måneskin’s Victoria De Angelis also teamed up with Anitta for her debut solo track, “GET UP BITCH! (Shake Ya Ass).”

Meanwhile, The Weeknd performed a gig in Anitta’s native Brazil in September, where she joined him for a performance of “São Paulo.“ The Weeknd said his producer Mike Dean asked Anitta for a vocal recording to accompany the performance, but it became so successful that Anitta’s involvement — and the track itself — became a centerpiece for the show. The subsequent (and notably creepy) music video fittingly debuted the day before Halloween.

“I wrote some verses as a joke and never imagined they would become serious,” said Anitta. “Suddenly, I received the finished song. I loved it! I felt very honored and flattered.”

Major acts that remain on the bill for this year’s Coachella include Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Green Day, Missy Elliott, Benson Boone, Blackpink’s Lisa and Jennie, FKA Twigs, Beabadoobee, and many more. Tickets for both weekends are still available as Coachella enthusiasm among live music fans appears to wane.
