Amazon Music announced its inaugural Rotation Winter Formal livestream on December 6, hosted by Gia Peppers, with live performances by R&B artists DVSN, Coco Jones, and a special guest.
To celebrate the holidays, Amazon Music announced its inaugural Rotation Winter Formal livestream, presented by Amazon Music’s hip-hop and R&B brand. Hosted by Gia Peppers, Rotation will offer an intimate livestream event featuring performances by the R&B duo DVSN, rising star Coco Jones, and a special guest. The Rotation Winter Formal will stream live from Los Angeles on December 6 at 7:30 PM PST on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
“Despite the chatter, this year was an incredible one for R&B. With the Rotation Winter Formal, we would want to spotlight some of our favorite R&B acts of 2022,” says Josh Peas, artist relations, hip-hop and R&B, Amazon Music.
“This is something that has been in the works for a while, and we can’t wait to bring the Rotation Winter Formal to life. There’s no denying the impact artists such as DVSN and Coco Jones have made, and we’re excited to celebrate them as we close out the year.”
With the Rotation Winter Formal, Amazon Music hopes to “bring together the best in music one last time before the year is over while enjoying some of the esteemed R&B acts of 2022.”
The event spotlights Coco Jones’ “Credit the Culture” and “Love is War,” an Amazon Original released as part of Amazon Music’s celebration of Black Music Month. Additionally, DVSN’s rendition of “Amazing Grace” — one of the latest tracks in a slate of new holiday-themed Amazon Originals from artists like Lizzo, GIVĒON, Kane Brown, and Lauren Spencer-Smith.
Amazon Music has been doubling down on its exclusive content, expanding into podcasts and offering Prime subscribers access to its entire catalog in shuffle mode. Listening to songs in HD, Ultra HD, and spatial audio still requires an additional subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited. However, the pricing ($8.99/month for Prime customers and $9.99/month otherwise) is marginally cheaper than Apple and Spotify’s current offerings.
