Just one day before its 13th anniversary, Alesso and Ryan Tedder have come together to reveal a sequel to their iconic EDM track, “Calling (Lose My Mind).”
Released in 2012 by Alesso, Tedder and Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso, “Calling (Lose My Mind)” is now widely considered a generational dance anthem. Coupled with Tedder’s soaring vocals, the track’s euphoric progressive house melodies defined an era of festival anthems and became a staple during what many consider the “golden age” of electronic dance music.
After topping Billboard‘s Hot Dance Club Songs chart at the time, the song solidified Alesso and Ingrosso’s reputation as masters of emotive, high-energy dance music. It is still played at major festivals all over the world today.
Alesso and Tedder took to Instagram this week to tease a follow-up, with the latter remarking that their reunion is “long overdue.” They previously teased a sequel in the works back in February 2023, but fans have more reason to believe it’s imminent this time around.
The superstar Swedish DJ and OneRepublic frontman have also collaborated to release 2013’s “If I Lose Myself (Alesso Remix),” another iconic EDM record; and “Scars,” which dropped in 2015.
With the demand for nostalgia-fueled revivals growing across the industry, fans are eager to see how Alesso and Tedder will reimagine their beloved classic. It’s important to note, however, that they have not formally announced a track at the time of this writing. It’s also unclear at this time whether or not Ingrosso is involved.
