89-Year-Old Buddy Guy Releases New Album Ain’t Done with the Blues: Stream


Buddy Guy is celebrating his 89th birthday on Wednesday (July 30th) with the release of his new album Ain’t Done with the Blues. The full album can be streamed now.

Fresh off of his appearance in Ryan Coogler’s film Sinners, the legendary guitarist has offered up an extensive collection of Chicago blues numbers that spans two discs and 18 tracks. It marks his first studio full-length since 2022’s The Blues Don’t Lie.

Executive produced by Tom Hambridge, the album features Guy flanked by some fellow guitar talent in Joe Bonamassa (“Dry Stick”), Peter Frampton (“It Keeps Me Young”), and Joe Walsh (“How Blues Is That”) on select tracks, along with a tune featuring vocals by The Blind Boys of Alabama (“Jesus Loves the Sinner”).

Guy landed at No. 22 on Consequence’s list of the 100 Best Guitarists of All Time, While he retired from extensive touring last year, he will hit the road to support the album’s release with a five-show run in Arizona and California in August. Get tickets here.
