21 Savage has unveiled the trailer for his upcoming biopic, titled American Dream: The 21 Savage Story, with Donald Glover and Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin both playing the rapper. Watch it below.
American Dream was co-directed by Glover’s brother and frequent collaborator Stephen Glover alongside Jamal Olori, Fam Udeorji, and Luis Perez. The film was co-written by Olori and Stephen Glover, and features special appearances from Gail Bean, Druski, Jabari Banks, Chad Lindberg, Victoria Pedretti, Young Mazino, and Natasha Lyonne.
The movie will also be accompanied by a soundtrack, which you can pre-order here.
Under his Childish Gambino moniker, Glover has collaborated musically with 21 Savage on multiple occasions. In 2018, 21 contributed ad-libs to Gambino’s Grammy-winning hit “This Is America.” That same year, Gambino returned the favor with an appearance on 21’s album i am > i was, and more recently, 21 guested on Gambino’s “12.38” in 2020.
Both artists are expected to release solo material at some point this year. This past December, 21 Savage said at his first-ever London concert that he was getting ready to drop his next album. Meanwhile, Gambino recently told TMZ that he is planning to drop another album “soon.”
