JANA Duggar has broken her strict family rules while wedding dress shopping as her mom Michelle missed the important event.

In a new YouTube vlog post, Jana, 34, was shown picking out a wedding dress with her sisters Jessa Seewald, 31, and Joy-Anna Forsyth, 26.
In the video, the 19 Kids and Counting alum tried on six different wedding dresses.
Jana stunned in an off-the-shoulder gown as well as a sleeveless, lace dress, but it was gown number three, a revealing backless dress, that got the attention of fans.
On Reddit, one fan wrote, “Just IMAGINE [Jim Bob and Michelle’s] faces if Jana would’ve chosen *this* dress instead.”
“I’m surprised she even tried this on wow,” mentioned a second commenter.
“And posted it!” replied a third.
“I’m even more surprised she kept it in the video,” agreed another.
“Same, at first I thought it was someone else,” commented a fifth.
Further down in the comment thread, one person asked, “I don’t feel like watching the video, did she mention her mom’s absence?
“Does [Michelle] just not care about anything anymore?”
They continued, “I know Jana liked that weird comment praising her parents but I wonder if when the dust of the wedding and house Reno settles if she’ll slowly decrease contact with them.”
“[Michelle] was only interested in pre-wedding shopping and other ‘idyllic Mom’ duties when the TLC cameras were rolling and she wanted to keep the optics of ‘mother of the year,'” accused another.

Last month, fans noticed that Jana appeared to be detaching more from her famous family after getting married, changing her name on social media following her wedding to Stephen Wissmann, 31.
The oldest Duggar daughter removed the family’s last name from her Instagram bio, which now reads, “Jana Wissmann.”

“Honestly, Wissmann is a killer last name. I’d be so fast to lose that fugly Duggar,” a third joked.

Jana also updated her profile photo, which now shows her and Stephen on their special day.

Last month, the couple said “I do” in front of 500 guests at their wedding in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Jana called the day a “dream come true,” noting how she never thought it would actually arrive.
“For me, it felt like, ‘Okay, it’s never coming.’ But now it’s starting to sink in. Reality is starting to set in,” she told People.
“And I’m like, ‘Wow, this truly is something that I’ve dreamed of.
“And just to see it coming about is incredible and kind of hard to believe. It’s a dream come true,” Jana added.
Jana and Stephen, whose large families are close, dated a few years back and remained friends.
Jana’s brother, Jeremiah Duggar, is also married to Stephen’s sister Hannah.
The couple reconnected earlier this year during her second semester of nursing school.
“I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what,” she told the outlet.
After just a few months back together, the two got engaged on June 15.
Jana’s wedding day was full of family, as her sister, Jessa, served as her maid of honor.
Her bridesmaids included her sister-in-law, Abbie Duggar, and sisters Joy-Anna, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Johannah Duggar, and Jordyn Duggar.
Jill Duggar, 33, was notably missing from the bunch.
Jana wore an off-the-shoulder satin wedding dress, which went against the strict dress rules put in place by her father, Jim Bob Duggar.
MOVING ON
Along with officially changing her last name, Jana is also moving away from her family in other ways.
The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed last week that she will finally leave her family’s home and move into a house with Stephen.
The couple purchased a $275,000 Nebraska home on May 31, 2023, and have been “fixing it up.”
Only Stephen’s name is listed on the home deed according to Nebraska property records.
The single-family home features five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a basement, a two-car garage, and other amenities.
