We’re sorry, Ms. Jackson, this tour is for real.
After a decade away from the stage — what felt like “forever ever” — André 3000 is fully embracing the spotlight this year.
To kick off 2024, the former Outkast frontman turned experimental jazz flautist embarked on a surprise solo tour in support of his critically-acclaimed debut solo album “New Blue Sun.”
Come fall, he’s doing it all over again.
From September through November, the 49-year-old will take the ‘New Blue Sun Live Tour’ along with collaborators Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, and Surya Botofasina with Deantoni Parks to theaters, performing arts centers, centers and auditoriums all over North America.
That includes a stop at Brooklyn’s BAM Howard Gilman Opera House on Friday, Oct. 25.
For those not quite sure what to expect, the Chicago Sun-Times raved “(Andre 3000’s) performance was a free-willed exploration of sound and a beautiful energy exchange with the audience that gave the room a palpable heartbeat” about a concert at the Thalia Theater on the first leg of the tour.
If this sounds like the free-flowing show for you, tickets are available for the concert of your choosing as soon as today.
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘New Blue Sun Live Tour’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale is Friday, June 28.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

André 3000 set list
For those expecting Outkast music on this tour, unfortunately, you’re out of luck.
However, if you prefer sonically adventurous, improvisational jazz songs with absurdly long song titles, this just might be the tour for you.
Based on our findings at Set List FM, here are the four tracks he played at a gig on March 9 in Los Angeles:
01.) “That Night in Hawaii When I Turned Into a Panther and Started Making These Low Register Purring Tones That I Couldn’t Control… S*** Was Wild”
02.) “I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a “Rap” Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time”
03.) “Ghandi, Dalai Lama, Your Lord & Savior J.C. / Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy”
04.) “Dreams Once Buried Beneath the Dungeon Floor Slowly Sprout Into Undying Gardens”
Note: Setlist incomplete and out of order, and was mostly improvisational.
André 3000 new music
On Nov. 17, 2023, André 3000 shocked the world when he dropped his first solo album “New Blue Sun.”
Comprised of eight, vocal-free, free-form, ambient jazz tracks and clocking in just shy of 90 minutes, the record. which focuses on the flute and woodwinds, is anything but conventional.
However, after a few listens, the mellow sounds grow on the listener. The album’s anything goes nature makes “New Blue Sun” the perfect homework or reading companion, creating the perfect, relaxed or frenetic tone depending on the track.
For us, the glossy (by this record’s standards) “BuyPoloDisorder’s Daughter Wears a 3000® Button Down Embroidered and spaced-out, dreamy “Ants to You, Gods to Who?” were the standouts.
If you haven’t given “New Blue Sun” the proper love it deserves, you can find the fascinating album here.
André 3000 band members
As noted above, André 3000 will be joined by a number of artists at all shows on the fall run. To familiarize yourself with them, here’s what each band member plays:
Carlos Niño: Percussion
Nate Mercereau:Guitar
Surya Botofasina: Keyboardist
Deantoni Parks: Drummer
