Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley are reportedly “happy” now that the cat’s out of the bag about her pregnancy with their first little superstar.
This past Sunday, it was confirmed that the 34-year-old actress was pregnant. An insider now reveals that she and her also 34-year-old husband have “wanted to start a family for quite some time.”
“Family means a lot to both of them and they knew early on in their relationship being parents was something they really wanted,” the alleged insider told People.
The source added, “They’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while but are happy the news is out.”
Crew on Margot Robbie’s Latest Film Had No Idea She Was Pregnant
Meanwhile, a different on-set insider told People that “no one suspected that [Robbie] was pregnant” while filming her new film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. The Barbie star “was super professional and focused while filming.” The source also claimed that “she had long days, but it didn’t seem like a big deal to her.”
“[Margot] looked amazing and seemed very happy,” the source added. “She got along with Colin [Farrell], and they had fun filming.”
Robbie and Tom Ackerley first met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française. At the time, he was an assistant director while she showcased her talents in front of the camera.
Earlier on Sunday, while vacationing in Lake Como, Italy, Robbie showcased her baby bump in a crop top. Photos shared on social media showcased the actress in a stylish ensemble: a cropped white T-shirt revealing her midriff, paired with sleek black trousers. She completed her look with a chic black blazer and a cream leather bag.
In December 2016, they wed in a private ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia. Their engagement had never been publicly announced before the wedding.
Robbie and Ackerley were friends long before they founded the production company LuckyChap. Teaming up with Robbie’s childhood pals Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara, they formed a tight-knit, four-person producing powerhouse. Together, they’ve crafted several acclaimed films and TV series. These include I, Tonya, Birds of Prey, and Barbie, all showcasing Robbie in starring roles.
