I had an incredibly busy summer traveling almost every weekend, whether it be for a wedding or a quick getaway. Between plane rides and road trips, I knew I needed good luggage that would be equal parts functional and stylish. That’s why I was thrilled when the opportunity came along to test out the Paravel Weekender Bag ($295) — I’d heard great things about this particular design from other editors. This bag is the perfect accompaniment to my carry-on roller suitcase; I used it for my laptop, cosmetics, curling iron, and other toiletries.
If you’re curious whether the Paravel Weekender Bag would be a good investment for you, keep reading to get my honest thoughts, plus more details on the design. It’s a great time to start building up that holiday wish list early.
What I Like About the Paravel Weekender Bag
Even though the bag itself appears compact, it actually has a ton of space inside. I can fit electronics, multiple cosmetic bags, and any other extras I want readily available with plenty of space to spare. I also constantly use the side straps that slip over the trolley of your carry-on, so the bag can sit securely on top of my suitcase. It makes rushing through the airport a total breeze. When I want to carry it myself, I use the comfortable, wide shoulder strap that’s adjustable. Another important feature for me is the interior pocket, where I store things like my passport, wallet, and keys — with this dedicated space, there’s no fumbling for the necessities.
What’s Worth Noting About Paravel’s Weekender Bag
For an extra $25, you can get your initials embroidered on the front of the bag (that’s what I opted for). If you want something extra special, you can get your initials hand-painted for an extra $65. I appreciate all of the customization options the brand offers, especially if you’re looking to gift this bag. It just makes the present more personal. I will also note that the zipper is very sturdy, but I can easily pull it open or close without any struggle. Overall, the quality of the bag is very apparent.
