WITH many of us returning to the office this week, it is a struggle to know what to wear.
If your workplace wardrobe could do with a revamp, one influencer says she has got the secret ‘formula’ for the perfect office outfit.
Though you might think you need to trawl the high street, it might be better to save your pennies.
Rather than splurging on the latest trends, influencer Meredith has shown just how easy it is to rework staples to create timeless looks.
Better known as @b1gbimbo on Tiktok, this plus size content creator focuses on finding a signature look to flatter her frame and used this to build her work wardrobe.
In fact, Meredith claims that she has ‘cracked the code’ and admitted: “I end up wearing a version of this outfit every day when I go to work.”
The body positive video begins with her posing in a pair of classic black wide leg trousers and white vest top, which is an effortlessly chic outfit.
With the combo highlighting her waist, the content creator can then layer on additional accessories – depending on her mood.
Adding a simple striped button down, white trainers and large leather tote, she looked like she was ready for spring and summer.
However, she also styled a ‘fall’ version of the outfit which is perfect for the cold snap we are currently having at the moment.
Simply by swapping her previous outfit for the same top and trousers in more autumnal shades, she quickly made an outfit which was perfect for the colder weather.
“This next outfit is a different colour way [and] I really love these colours together,” she gushed, adding: “These are my favourite trouser and they are exactly same as the ones before.
Adding a cosy aviator jacket, the influencer showed how rapidly she could make her look weather proof and change the vibe with minimal effort.
For the final wintery look, Meredith kept the same structure and added a chic tan blazer over the all black outfit.
“This base is perfect for a blazer,” she told viewers, adding: “It’s really long so I like to keep everything flowing.”
Unsurprisingly, the body positive video has gone viral with over 176,000 fans seeing just how easily you can update your office look with the right base.
It’s not surprising that many of us are looking to build outfits around wardrobe staples we already own, especially with the cost of other essentials going up.
If you weren’t already sold, creating looks around the same basics might just save you time and valuable space in your wardrobe.
According to a recent article by The Wall Street Journal, 20 per cent of clothes in a person’s wardrobe are worn regularly.
With so much extra clutter in our closets, it’s not wonder that many of us are struggling to feel happy about our workwear.
Rather than raiding the discount section in the January sales, maybe it’s time to get those essentials – just like Meredith.
