Since relocating to Ibiza in 2020, Demi Rose may have picked up some Spanish vocabulary and phrases. However, her transition to the island wasn’t just about language; it was also a response to the toll the pandemic took on her mental health during the lockdown in London.

“I had up and down days, and with so much time on my hands, I obviously had a lot of time to reflect on things,” Demi revealed to Evening Standard. “I felt very sad.”

In response, she decided to move to Spain.

“I have loads of friends out here, the weather is nice, and it is a perfect backdrop for my modeling work,” Demi explained. “And the connections I have made through living here have introduced me to the wonderful team, who are behind this video.”

In the same interview, Demi also got candid about how she dealt with losing both of her parents.

“You know what, I grew up from a young age caring for my mother, who had been left disabled following a heart attack. I was pretty much her carer for seven years, so was forced to mature quickly and never had a normal childhood,” she said. “It was almost surreal when my father died and then my mother so soon afterward. I felt angry, sad, bitter, and lonely but I am just so lucky that I had a good support system to carry me. Being able to talk about grief is so important and not bottle it up. That’s why my message is so important to encourage people to talk.”
