Zakk Wylde Drops Off Experience Hendrix Tour for Ozzy Rock Hall Induction

Zakk Wylde Drops Off Experience Hendrix Tour for Ozzy Rock Hall Induction

Zakk Wylde is stepping away from the remaining dates of the ongoing Experience Hendrix tour as he prepares for Ozzy Osbourne‘s second Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Wylde is a man of many projects, from Black Label Society to Pantera, but the journeyman guitarist can only be in one place at a time. His involvement in Ozzy’s induction — which honors Osbourne’s solo career, including years of work alongside Wylde — has taken precedence over the remaining five shows of the Experience Hendrix tour (October 15th through the 19th).

While the Experience Tour will no longer feature Wylde, fans can still look forward to seeing the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Taj Mahal, Dweezil Zappa, Eric Johnson, and more performing during the upcoming shows (get tickets here).

Wylde’s Instagram page shared the following statement announcing his departure from the tour:

“Due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts, Zakk Wylde will be unable to perform at the remaining dates of the Experience Hendrix tour. This is due to his inclusion in the upcoming performance honoring Ozzy Osbourne’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The affected tour dates are as follows: October 15th – October 19th.

We apologize to fans for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as Zakk takes part in this momentous occasion. All other scheduled performances on the Experience Hendrix tour will continue as planned.”

Osbourne was previously inducted into the Rock Hall as a member of Black Sabbath. As previously reported, his second Rock Hall induction on October 19th promises a massive musical tribute to the Prince of Darkness.

A star-studded cast of Maynard James Keenan, Billy Idol, and Jelly Roll will sing songs from Ozzy’s solo career, backed by a band including Wylde on guitar, bassist Rob Trujillo (who was in Ozzy’s band before he joined Metallica), Wolfgang Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, and producer Andrew Watt. The event will be televised live on Disney+, with a later broadcast on ABC.
