Sammy Hagar Shares Rehearsal Videos Ahead of Summer Tour

Sammy Hagar is set to kick off his “Best of All Worlds Tour” in mid-July (get tickets here), and the Red Rocker has been teasing rehearsal footage ahead of the trek.

Hagar’s all-star band for this tour is rounded out by longtime Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar shredder Joe Satriani, and drummer Jason Bonham. The group will be performing a varied set that will lean “heavily” on Van Halen material, as well as selections from his band Montrose and his solo career.

One such song will apparently be the Van Halen live deep cut “5150.” In his latest rehearsal tease, Hagar shared a clip of star-studded ensemble running through the track on X/Twitter.

“Another top five most requested VH song that hasn’t been played since the 5150 tour,” posted Hagar. “This is so exciting. I can’t tell you can’t wait to bring it to you.”

The no frills clip from inside the studio is a bit muffled — this is just a simple phone recording, after all — so you can’t really hear the Red Rocker, even though he is clearly belting out the vocals. What is audible is the sheer musicianship on display. Bonham and Anthony are locked in, and Satriani is dishing out the obligatory Eddie Van Halen-isms on his axe.

For the dedicated Van Halen fans anticipating this tour, these clips will only further stoke the hype. Hagar also shared practice footage of “Poundcake” and a selfie video of him arriving at the studio for the first round of rehearsals.

“Here we go, I think the boys are all here,” Hagar laughed as he walked in to the studio to the sound of Bonham’s drums in the distance. “Oh man, it’s some scary shit. This is some scary shit.”

The tour kicks off July 13th in West Palm Beach, Florida, and runs through August 31st in St. Louis.
