Rick Wakeman Announces Fall 2024 Leg of Final US Solo Tour

Former YES keyboardist Rick Wakeman has announced a leg of Fall 2024 dates for his ongoing final US solo tour.

The pioneering prog rocker will kick it off on October 3rd in Tarrytown, New York, and wrap up the trek on November 2nd in Landsdowne, Pennsylvania. As was the case with the previous spring leg of the tour, each concert will mark the final performance by Wakeman at each venue.

General ticket sales for select dates begin Friday (July 12th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Fans can also look for deals or get tickets to sold-out dates via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

Wakeman’s final solo tour sees the legendary keyboardist performing “YES music and other favorites,” including a new piece entitled “Yessonata” — a 30-minute instrumental featuring “YES themes and melodies, woven into sonata form.”

Wakeman turned 75 in May and stated in the initial tour announcement that he intends to cease touring by his 77th birthday. That gives him less than two more years on the road, so we can assume Wakeman still has a few more US legs left in him (albeit at different venues, as previously mentioned).

“I have thoroughly enjoyed performing the various one-man shows, but it’s time to call it a day,” remarked Wakeman in his original farewell tour statement. “I intend to throw in the best of what I have done in the past, plus a few new surprises on the way, and possibly even the odd guest joining me on the odd occasion.”
