Reverb’s Beat the Rush Sale Offers Deals on Guitars and Gear

Reverb has launched its Beat the Rush sale, offering big savings on guitars, gear, and accessories weeks ahead of the Black Friday frenzy, with select items on sale for more than 40% off the regular price

Dozens of Reverb shops are have items listed as part of the sale, and we sorted through to find some of the highlight guitar-related items for the rocker or soon-to-be rocker in your life. Or if you’re a musician yourself and have been waiting for a good sale to buy that boutique pedal or stock up on patch cables, now is a good time. And you’ll be supporting independent sellers on the Reverb marketplace.

Here are some of our choice picks from the sale listings:

Gibson Les Paul Modern Lite Electric Guitar – Inverness Green Satin ($989)

Manchester Music Mill in New Hampshire has knocked $500 off this gorgeous Les Paul Modern Lite in a striking Green Satin finish, which is perfectly complemented by the black pickguard and tone/volume dials. The used guitar features a mahogany body and neck, with a rosewood fretboard boasting 22 medium jumbo frets. Electronically the axe houses 490R and 498T humbuckers. Buy it here.

EVH Striped Series Electric Guitar ($944.99)

Who doesn’t love Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstrat? For less than a grand after the 30-percent discount, you could own your own replica of the iconic guitar via Eddie’s own EVH Guitars (better yet, the seller for this particular used model is a shop called Eddie’s Guitars in St. Louis). The Striped Series guitar features a basswood Stratocaster-style body adorned by Eddie Van Halen’s famous striped graphics. A single direct-mount Wolfgang humbucking bridge pickup ensures you’ll get EVH’s iconic guitar tone, as well. Buy it here.

Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner Pedal (less than $100)

It’s surprising how many guitar players don’t use a tuning pedal. It really should be the first pedal you buy. Even if it doesn’t alter the sound of the guitar in any way, it can double as a mute pedal and ensures you can tune on the fly if a string goes flat or sharp. The Boss TU-3 is an industry standard, and you can find many of them used on the sale page here.

Electro-Harmonix J Mascis Signature Ram’s Head Big Muff Pi ($105.20)

The Electro Harmonix Big Muff is the ultimate fuzz pedal, and J Mascis’ work with Dinosaur Jr. features some the finest usage of the Big Muff ever laid to tape. Because of the pedals iconic status, the base model — let alone the Mascis variant — rarely goes on sale or drops in price. Buy it here.

Six-pack of guitar patch cables ($24.31)

These Black Friday season sales are always a good time to stock up on the more mundane purchases that inevitably come with being a guitarist. Patch cables, for instance, are one thing you can’t have too many of. No, it’s not a glamorous thing to buy, but when you lose your guitar signal during a gig because of a faulty patch, you’ll be grateful you had a couple extra lying around. This six-pack of guitar patch cables with metal-encased right-angle male connectors is a proper deal. Buy it here.
