Guitarist Nita Strauss married her longtime partner Josh Villalta on Saturday (May 4th) at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles, and rocked out at her own wedding reception alongside Alice Cooper and David Draiman.
Strauss wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding gown, as seen in an exclusive pictorial for People, but that didn’t stop her from picking up her guitar and joining Cooper for a performance of the Beatles’ “Back in the U.S.S.R.,” as well as contributing vocals to Draiman’s performance of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” (the Disturbed singer also sang Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” at the reception).
The groom, who plays drums in Strauss’ solo band, manned the kit during the performances, getting his chance to rock out, too. As for the couple’s first dance, it was to Extreme’s hit ballad ‘More Than Words.”
Strauss, of course, has been Cooper’s guitarist for several years. She took a leave of absence from the shock rocker’s band in 2022 to play with Demi Lovato, who was also at the wedding.
The nuptials came during a busy tour schedule for Strauss, who recently wrapped up a headlining run, and will rock solo gigs at the Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals later this month.
From June through October, Strauss will be out on the road with Cooper, including the the rock icon’s co-headlining summer US tour with Rob Zombie that kicks off in August (tickets available here).
