Mick Jagger is celebrating his son Deveraux’s seventh birthday in some very rare family photos. The rocker’s girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, shared a collage of the couple in honor of their little one’s big day on Friday.
“December 8th !!!!!!! Happy Birthday sweet, energetic, silly, smart, wild and beautiful Devi! I can’t believe you’re 7 !!!” the 36-year-old gushed via Instagram.
“We love you more than anything! ❤️You truly are my sunshine ☀️,” she added.
In the photos, the Rolling Stones frontman, 80, looks relaxed and happy. In one snapshot, the trio are sitting with a beautiful country background as the sun sets. Another pic appears to be a throwback and shows the proud parents holding up Deveraux as he touches his famous dad’s chin.
In October, the musician opened up about parenting his youngest son.
“You get a bit out of practice — it’s not like riding a bike,” he told the Guardian. “The more children you have, the more laissez faire you get about them, to be honest.”
“And it depends on the child,” the father of eight continued. “They have their own personalities and you can mold them to a certain extent, but you see their likes and dislikes and encourage them do things they gravitate towards. It’s fun to have children, at any age. But if you’re working, and always away, you don’t get to enjoy it as much.”
When Deveraux was born, Jagger wasn’t “working so much.”
“I was able to spend more time. And then we had the lockdown — he’s only 6, and two of those years I did almost nothing [with the band],” he explained.
The Stones have since released another album, “Hackney Diamonds,” and will be hitting the road once more. From April through July next year, the 1989 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play stadiums and festivals all over North America to promote their new music.
Jagger has four children with Jerry Hall, his partner from 1990 to 1997: daughters Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia May, 31, and sons James, 38, and Gabriel, 25.
His eldest child is daughter Karis, 53, whose mother is the performer Marsha Hunt. With Bianca Jagger, the only woman he ever married, Mick has daughter Jade, 52.
He and model Luciana Gimenez welcomed son Lucas in 1999, and Deveraux arrived in 2016.
In September, Jagger raised eyebrows when he hinted that he won’t be leaving his $500 million fortune to his many kids.
“The children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “You maybe do some good in the world.”
