Actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. chatted about his latest projects, which include “S.W.A.T.” on CBS and “9-1-1” on ABC.
Author Roy T. Bennett once said: “Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” This quote applies to Lou Ferrigno Jr.
‘S.W.A.T.’ on CBS
On being a part of the “S.W.A.T.” drama series, Ferrigno remarked, “It was great. We have a gang of triads that are robbing banks, and we are infiltrating illegal gambling rings. It was just great to be back with the crew and save the day.”
“What is good about ‘SWAT’ is that it has staying power!” he exclaimed.
Playing Rocker in ‘S.W.A.T.’
He is known for his portrayal of Donovan Rocker, a S.W.A.T. team leader and decorated officer.
On playing Rocker, he stated, “What I like about Rocker is that I can exude a tremendous level of passion for this particular career/job in terms of expressing feeling the rush and embodying heroic efforts of first responders.”
“That adrenaline rush alone is really rewarding, so that’s great,” he acknowledged.
“It is nice to portray someone who is very seemingly collected,” he admitted. “Rocker has been a good guy his whole life, which is great, but he is also a hunky nerdy guy. It is really such a technically profound show, especially how it’s run and how it is put together.”
“The scenes we do and the sets that we get to play on are so captivating. It is just really nice to continue the legacy of that character,” he added.
Working with Oliver Stark and Ryan Guzman on ‘9-1-1’
Ferrigno had favorable words about his “9-1-1” co-stars Oliver Stark and Ryan Guzman. “Ryan is so great,” he said. “Oliver is awesome too.”
“It is such a pleasure playing that character on ‘9-1-1,” he noted “On set, it has been great. The cast is so much fun, and creatively, we get to play. In a sense, it is just like ‘S.W.A.T.’ because ‘9-1-1’ is also top tier.”
Experience on ‘9-1-1’ on ABC
In “9-1-1,” Ferrigno portrays Tommy Kinard, who is an ex-firefighter who previously worked at Station 118 of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Presently, Tommy works as a pilot at LAFD Air Operations. “I am very proud of the work that we do on both shows, and how they handle things,” Ferrigno said.
“Professionally, I am in a great position, and I am really taking in a moment every day to be grateful for that. Professional courtesy is at a premium there. Everyone wants to be there, and everyone wants to work hard. It is a really fruitful environment,” he elaborated about “9-1-1.”
‘Resting Roots’ on Passionflix
He spoke about doing the Passionflix movie “Resting Roots,” which was directed by
Louise Alston.
“That was a feel-good movie,” he admitted. “That was a fun movie, and it stirs up those emotions, which feels good.”
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Ferrigno revealed, “Full Motion.”
