Two years after its arrival in theaters, Glenn Danzig‘s horror film Death Rider in the House of Vampires is finally receiving a physical release on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Danzig’s second original feature-length film and self-described “vampire Spaghetti Western” received a limited theatrical release back in August 2021. The veteran rocker wrote, directed, scored, and starred in the film (playing the character Bad Bathory) alongside the likes of Devon Sawa, Julian Sands, Danny Trejo, Eli Roth, and Kim Director.
The plot follows the Death Rider (Sawa), who travels to the desert Vampire Sanctuary, ruled by Count Holliday. The price of admission is “one untouched virgin.” As seen in the NSFW trailer for the film, the combo of bloodthirst and gunslinging recalls Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s horror shoot-em-up From Dusk Till Dawn, which also features vampires and pistols.
Death Rider in the House of Vampires is set to arrive as soon as December in multiple physical formats. The Blu-Ray edition has six alternate cover options, five depicting one of the central characters from the film ($34.98) and one featuring the traditional theatrical release poster ($26.98). A standard DVD release (with poster cover art) is also available ($19.98).
Each edition is currently available for pre-order via Cleopatra Records. Additional ephemera, such as signed movie posters, lobby cards, and merch, can be purchased, as well.
