Orville Peck to Make Broadway Debut as Emcee in Cabaret

Orville Peck is headed to the Great White Way. Peck will be joining the KitKat Club as the Emcee in Broadway’s current Cabaret revival, replacing Adam Lambert.

The country singer’s Broadway debut will commence on March 31st at the August Wilson Theater. It’s unknown whether Peck will be donning his signature mask for the performance, or whether he’ll be billed by his stage name or his birth name, Daniel Pitout.

He did, however, study at the London Academy of Dramatic Art, tour nationally with several musicals in his early 20s, and even made his West End debut in the farcical Peter Pan Goes Wrong in 2016. Plus, given his mask and old-school country showmanship, Peck knows his way around theatricality.

He’ll be joined by Tony winner Eva Noblezada (Hadestown) who will replace Moana‘s Auli’i Cravalho in the role of Sally Bowles. The recent Cabaret revival transferred over from a 2021 West End production; it opened on April 21st, 2024 with Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin in starring roles. It was also nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning one for best scenic design. Get tickets to the Cabaret revival on Broadway here.

As for Peck, he returned in 2024 with Stampede, an album comprised of duets with artists like Elton John, Beck, Willie Nelson, Kylie Minogue, and more. We ranked his Beck collaboration “Death Valley High” as one of the best songs of 2024. Peck also is set to appear on The Wiggles’ new country album.
