The artist formerly known as Kanye West is commemorating Mother’s Day with the release of a new video for “Life of the Party,” the André 3000-featuring track from the deluxe edition of last year’s Donda album.
Featured in the new video are photographs from Ye’s childhood, which have been reappropriated to incorporate pieces from the previously announced “creative exploration” known as Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga. Per a press release sent out ahead of its release, the video for one of Donda’s most-discussed tracks is intended to mark a “seamless alignment” between Ye’s various creative outlets.

Also on Sunday, a new Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga TV commercial is debuting, complete with excerpts from the new “Life of the Party” video. Also, a billboard for the Yeezy Gap x Balenciaga collection was spotted in New York.
As for the Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga pieces mentioned above, this particular selection has been confirmed to be launching globally via the official Yeezy Gap site—as well as via Farfetch, Mytheresa, and Luisaviaroma—on May 25 at 9 a.m. ET.
Donda, originally released to streaming services in August of last year, was first rolled out via a series of performance art events, including one in Chicago featuring a replica of Ye’s childhood home and an appearance by Marilyn Manson. The album, Ye’s tenth, went on to receive an Album of the Year nomination at this year’s Grammys. A deluxe edition, featuring “Life of the Party” and alternate versions of several songs included on the original iteration, was shared in November and is set to receive an official vinyl release this summer.
