Less than 24 hours after Yeezy Gap teased its upcoming collaboration with Balenciaga, Kanye West took to Instagram to call out Gap for allegedly holding a meeting without him.
“Gap held a meeting about me without me?” Ye captioned a photo of the brand’s recently released reflective visor, the YR 3022 YZYGAP SHDZ, on Tuesday.
Complex has reached out to a rep for Ye for comment.
Kanye’s post arrives a day after Yeezy Gap shared images of its forthcoming campaign with Balenciaga, which features leather zip-up jackets, long rubber boots, and a skin-tight suit.
Granted, Kanye’s relationship with Gap hasn’t been smooth sailing as of late. Earlier this month, Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga faced backlash over a viral photo of one of the company’s stores, which showed Yeezy’s clothes being sold out of trash bags.
“This is how they are selling Yeezy GAP,” the tweet read. “The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers and this is how he wanted it. They won’t help you find ur size too, you just have to just dig through everything.”
Kanye addressed the criticism in a subsequent interview with Fox News, defending himself as an “innovator.”
“I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologize for my ideas,” he said. “That’s exactly what the media tries to do: make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”
