Lady Gaga Sings AC/DC Hit with Brian Johnson in Carpool Karaoke

Apple TV+ has just unveiled the surprise special A Carpool Karaoke Christmas featuring pop stars Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan, and Dua Lipa. Among the highlights is Lady Gaga singing “Highway to Hell” with AC/DC singer Brian Johnson.

The special starts out with usual Carpool Karaoke host James Corden phoning British radio personality Zane Lowe, and asking him to give “three friends” a ride in Tokyo, Missouri, and Los Angeles.

During Gaga’s ride, the pop star shared a clip of her grandma singing “Highway to Hell.” Lowe then said he had to make a stop, and shocked Gaga as he brought Johnson into the car with him. The AC/DC singer took the wheel as Gaga fan-girled sitting next to one of her musical heroes.

The pop star and the rock icon then sang “Highway to Hell” together, with Gaga revealing that she was an extra in AC/DC’s “Stiff Upper Lip” video.

“You wanna hear something funny? I was in the ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ video,” Gaga told Johnson. “I was 17 and I was an extra in the back. I was headbanging and they were like, ‘Hmmm. Don’t head bang, we want it to be modern.’ And I was like, ‘No, there’s only one move that I can do.’”

At the end of the ride, Johnson, who is a race car driver in his spare time, quipped, “I don’t have a license!”

Earlier this month, AC/DC announced their first North American tour in nine years. The outing kicks off in April, with tickets available here.
