Donald Glover will portray the Spider-Man villain Hypno-Hustler in an upcoming film, according to reports.

The film doesn’t have a title yet, and very little is known about the plot. Deadline reports that the script will be written by Eddie Murphy’s son, Myles Murphy. Hypno-Hustler was introduced in the ‘Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man’ #274 series back in 1978. The character fronts a band called the Mercy Killers, using pieces of hypnotic equipment to rob those who attend his shows.

Glover is no stranger to the Spider-Man universe, either. He voiced the Prowler in the 2017 film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. He’s also set to star in a forthcoming Prime Video adaptation of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, also starring Pen15’s Maya Erskine.

Billie Eilish recently closed out the last of her performances in Inglewood, California with Donald Glover as a special guest. Dave Grohl and Phoebe Bridgers appeared one night, while Donald Glover performed his Childish Gambino hit “Redbone” on Friday. He also stuck around long enough to sing Happy Birthday to Eilish, who celebrated her 21st birthday on December 18.

Glover’s hit comedy show Atlanta concluded after just four seasons, with many fans disappointed the show wouldn’t get a fifth season. Atlanta began in 2016 as a comedy-drama starring Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz. In speaking with IGN, writer Olori says the Atlanta team may not be done telling stories in the universe.

“I’m really happy that everybody got to enjoy the show as a whole and I know a lot of people were disappointed with it ending,” Olori says. “But you know, we still have–we’re gonna put out other stories and more content being in the same world, essentially.” It will be interesting to see if Donald Glover remains involved with any content produced outside the traditional TV structure.
