Months following the long-running DNA World Tour’s end, “Backstreet’s Back” – this time with a residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere.
The Backstreet Boys and Live Nation announced that “Into the Millennium” residency today, after the mentioned 220-date tour wrapped in October 2024. Now poised to become “the first pop act to play” the Sphere, the Orlando-based group is scheduled to kick off the weekends-only concert series on Friday, July 11th.
As things stand, the five-piece act has teed up nine Sphere performances, all expected to take place in July. But if the unique venue’s other residencies (and nostalgia’s positive ticket-sales impact) are any indication, additional dates could be forthcoming.
(Kenny Chesney’s own Sphere residency will set sail in May, after Dead & Company begin the month with six more shows. The Eagles have Sphere gigs booked into April, and Chesney’s dates run well into June. In short, the Vegas venue has a relatively crowded event calendar.)
Building on the nostalgia factor, organizers indicated that the Stagecoach-booked Backstreet Boys intend to “bring their legendary Millennium album to life,” along with “a selection of their greatest hits,” during the Sphere residency. The group’s third studio album, 1999’s Millennium features well-known tracks like “I Want It That Way.”
Regarding ticketing, passes for the Backstreet Boys’ July 11th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th, and 20th Sphere shows will receive a fan-club presale at 9 AM PST on Tuesday, February 18th.
A separate “artist presale” will initiate at the same time on Wednesday the 19th, with additional presales yet following ahead of a general onsale on Friday the 21st.
As for tickets to the Backstreet Boys’ final three Sphere dates (July 25th, 26th, and 27th), the fan-club presale is once again scheduled to go live on Tuesday, February 18th – albeit at 11AM PST – with an artist presale starting at the same time the next day.
Well before all those dates, superfans will have the option of buying hotel and/or VIP packages through Vibee beginning this Friday, February 14th.
Diehard supporters can cough up $599 for the less expensive of those passes (including concert access and a two-night Venetian or Virgin stay, with the price based on double occupancy), compared to $939 for the VIP tier.
The latter includes the same lodging, priority Sphere entry, transport to and from the airport, a “curated gifting kit,” and more. Neither Vibee offering comes with any sort of Backstreet Boys meet-and-greet opportunity, organizers made a point of emphasizing.
2025 is in many ways just ramping up, with other Sphere residency announcements certainly forthcoming. And despite the venue’s crowded medium-term calendar, new bookings might arrive sooner rather than later. Sphere CEO James Dolan previously floated the possibility of bringing in a “high-profile” female artist to play off-residency dates.
