Jeff Goldblum Announces New Jazz Album with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo

A sentimental man indeed, Jeff Goldblum has announced a new jazz album with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. Titled Still Blooming, the project is set for release on April 25th. The actor and instrumentalist has teased the LP by sharing his take on “The Best Is Yet to Come,” which features Scarlett Johansson; stream it below.

The bossa nova arrangement of the song sees Johansson floating through breezy instrumentals, stripping away the brassy version made famous by Frank Sinatra in favor of a playful island setting.

Johnansson isn’t the only A-lister joining Goldblum for this project, as his Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are both set to appear on the album; Grande is on board for “I Don’t Know Why (I Just Do), while Erivo will offer her award-winning vocals to “We’ll Meet Again.” Additionally, vocalist Mayka Sykes lends her voice to “Stella by Starlight.”

A statement about Still Blooming confirms that the songs for the tracklist were mined from the Golden Era of Broadway and the Great American Songbook.

In the meantime, Goldblum is gearing up for awards season, where Wicked is nominated for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture.
