Chappell Roan, like many of us, just wants to get a little stoned and game.
In a new interview with BBC Radio 1, the “Good Luck, Babe!” singer explained, “If I want to have a really good night, I’ll just eat an edible and play video games.” She then namedrops Fortnite as her go-to choice, though expresses no interest in the video game’s new first person mode. “I wouldn’t get to see my Ariana Grande character. No, no, I paid for that skin.”
Notably, Fortnite introduced a “HOT TO GO!”-themed emote just last month.
Lest you think Roan isn’t up for a night on the town, though, she also shared her substance of choice for getting in the mood to let loose: “If I’m trying to have fun out, I’ll take shrooms.”
The interview celebrated BBC Radio 1 naming the former Consequence CoSign their “Sound of 2025.” After her acclaimed debut LP The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, the smash success of “Good Luck, Babe!,” and her ever-impressive live show, it’s not hard to see why she garnered such a title.
Elsewhere in the interview, Roan also touched on her meteoric rise, the feeling of performing to massive crowds, and the decision not to extend her 2024 tour, citing the physical and mental toll it took on her health.
“There’s something [my late grandfather] said that I think about in every move I make with my career,” she said. “There are always options. So when someone says, ‘Do this concert because you’ll never get offered that much money ever again’, it’s like, who cares?”
While she might not have a full tour on the horizon, Roan is booked to perform at this year’s Primavera Sound, as well as Reading Festival. Pick up tickets to either event here.
