Avril Lavigne has a new man and some new ice.
As pointed out by TMZ, the Canadian singer was recently spotted in Los Angeles rocking a chunky diamond chain reportedly worth $80,000. The eye-catching piece was created by celebrity jeweler Eric Mavani, who said Avril had received the necklace from her new boyfriend, Tyga.
The custom chain is said to feature 50 carats of pink sapphires as well as white and black diamonds. As you can see in the video below, it has massive “Avril” name plate; the letter “A” layered over pink hearts; a couple of bow-donning skulls; and a clasp that reads “MFP,” which stands for motherfucking princess—a reference to Avril’s 2007 track “Girlfriend.”
Tyga reportedly presented the gift Thursday night, nearly a month after they were spotted hanging out together at LA’s Nobu. Shortly after the somewhat random sighting, Avril called off her engagement to singer Mod Sun, leading many to believe she and Tyga were romantically involved.
The two continued to fuel dating rumors over the next several weeks, as they attended several events together, including a party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio. Days after arriving at Paris Fashion Week, Avril and Tyga were photographed kissing one another at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer party.
“Tyga and Avril are getting to know each other,” an insider told People magazine earlier this month. “It’s very new. It’s very casual.”
