Toubab Krewe is headed out west. The African-inspired instrumental quintet has announced their plans to embark on an eight-stop springtime romp, beginning on March 7, 2025, at The Get Down in Portland, Ore., before sliding down the coastline in hot pursuit of Golden State follow-ups.
After closing out a night in the Rose City, Toubab Krewe members Luke Quaranta (djembe/dununs), Drew Heller (guitar), Justin Perkins (kora/kamelngoni), Terrence Houston (drums) and Justin Kimmel (bass) will arrive in The Hivve in Grants Pass, Ore., prior to the onset of California concerts, which begins on March 9 at Humboldt Brews in Arcata, Calif.
The band will continue its jaunt with an evening at the Crazy Horse Saloon in Nevada City, Calif., on March 11, before their San Francisco appearance at the Boom Boom Room on March 13. They’ll arrive at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, Calif. next for the first of two consecutive co-bills featuring Hot Butter Rum, the second of which takes the amalgamated lineup to Los Angeles’ Venice West.
The final stop of Toubab Krewe’s spring escape will take them to the Deer Lounge in scenic Ojai, Calif. According to the band’s schedule, they will participate in a series of already-announced festival appearances, beginning with Sunshine Get Down in Brooksville, Fla., on April 11.
On May 10, the band will perform at the Casual Campout in Raleigh, N.C., before arriving at Dark Star Jubilee on May 24. The group’s final live dates are July 12 at Pickin’ on Picknic in St. Claire, Mo., and FloydFest in Floyd, Va., from July 23 through 24.
Before the newly announced spring kick-off, Toubab Krewe will close out the month on Jan. 31 at the Velvet Elk Lounge in Boulder, Colo., followed by an evening at Denver’s Meow Wolf on Feb. 1.
