The Weeknd has been trying to get into acting in recent years, and after his HBO series The Idol was crushed as being one of the worst series in the network’s prestigious history, his new film Hurry Up Tomorrow is receiving similarly brutal reviews, with some calling it literally the worst movie they’ve ever seen.

At the time of this writing, The Weeknd-starring film Hurry Up Tomorrow — directed by It Comes at Night and Waves director Trey Edward Shults — has a 16% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes after debuting with a diabolical 0%.

Not only are professional critics hating the film, but casual movie goers are, too, with some calling it legitimately one of the worst movies they’ve ever sat through.

“Easily the worst movie of the decade,” one person posted on social media.

“One of the worst vanity projects I have ever seen. Could not believe my eyes at the ridiculous s— in this movie,” another said.

“Hurry Up Tomorrow is the worst movie i have seen in modern times genuinely,” added a third.

“Respectfully, Hurry Up Tomorrow was the worst movie I’ve ever seen,” one disappointed viewer put it.

Not only is the film itself being lambasted, but The Weeknd’s performance in it, and his general acting skills — which were already on embarrassing display in the similarly vapid HBO series The Idol — are also getting clowned on.

Alongside The Weeknd, Hurry Up Tomorrow –– described as a “companion piece” to his sixth studio album of the same name — also stars Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, Riley Keough, and Gabby Barrett.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is another blow to Jenna Ortega’s career, too, as the young actress has seemingly had a difficult time picking quality projects in the wake of her becoming a star via the Netflix series Wednesday. Since 2023, she’s starred in Scream 6, Finestkind, Miller’s Girl, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Winter Spring Summer or Fall, Death of a Unicorn, and now Hurry Up Tomorrow.
