‘The Thursday Murder Club’ Premiere Date Set By Netflix

Netflix has unveiled a premiere date and a set of first-look photos for The Thursday Murder Club, its adaptation of the international bestseller by Richard Osman from director Chris Columbus. The film, starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley, is set to premiere on Thursday, August 28.

Adapted for the screen by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote, The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees — Elizabeth (Mirren), Ron (Brosnan), Ibrahim (Kingsley) and Joyce (Celia Imrie) — who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands.

The latest film to be produced through a partnership between Netflix and Amblin Entertainment, pic also stars Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.

Jennifer Todd and Columbus produced, with Jo Burn, Richard Osman, Eleanor Columbus, Holly Bario, and Jeb Brody serving as executive producers.
