Jonas Brothers fans are quietly recalibrating after Kevin Jonas revealed his name isn’t actually Kevin — at least in the sense they’ve grown accustomed to.
The eldest Jonas brother sent fans into a mild identity crisis when he casually revealed that the name he’s been using for years isn’t the one that appears first on his birth certificate. Since 2005, the general public has known him simply as Kevin, but a TikTok video posted on Tuesday sparked a wave of confusion and curiosity — which resulted in an onset of mixed feelings.
“My first names not Kevin,” he wrote over a casual video that received anything but a casual response from some viewers.

“Don’t PMO Kevin,” one user wrote to express their frustration, while another fan felt as if they’ve “been catfished” their entire life.
Under the video, Jonas — surely aware of the mild chaos he unleashed — added a simple caption: “Should I change my handle to PaulJonas?”
For those keeping score, Kevin’s full name is Paul Kevin Jonas II. So while Kevin is, indeed, part of his name, it’s not the beginning of it.
Fans of celebrities have been reeling from a string of real-name revelations in recent months. Last September, Michael Keaton revealed to People that he plans to start going by his given name — Michael Douglas. And actor Kat Dennings, during an appearance on “Not Gonna Lie,” the podcast hosted by Kylie Kelce, revealed she adopted her stage name at the age of nine.
“At 9, I was like, ‘This isn’t going to work for me. This is not going to work,’” said Dennings, whose real name is Katherine Litwack.
