Kaley Cuoco’s boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey, is opening up about his first foray into fatherhood!
As you may know, the Hollywood sweethearts welcomed their first child, Matilda Carmine Pelphrey, earlier this month. Before her birth, the Netflix star went all out, ensuring his daughter was comfortable.
While we’ve seen photos of Pelphrey hands-on being the best dad ever, he recently opened up about his journey as a first-time dad.
Kaley Cuoco’s Partner, Tom Pelphrey, Talks On His Fatherhood Journey So Far
The proud dad was all smiles as he discussed his life with his newborn daughter during a conversation with Access Hollywood. When asked the most surprising thing about being a dad, the “Guiding Lights” actor revealed that he surprisingly discovered being a dad was his talent.
He said, “I was surprised how natural it felt. I’ve been around my nieces and other babies in my family. I’ve been a little scared to hold them, to touch them. Didn’t want to break them.”
The “Ozark” actor continued, “But as soon as they handed me, Matilda, I felt comfortable holding her. I felt comfortable moving her around and changing her. And that was a surprise.”
Pelphrey further highlighted how much of a natural he is at being a dad. He mentioned his expertise at burping his little one and that the nurse commended his skills. He also said his master abilities at swaddling his baby and changing diapers.
For Pelphrey, changing diapers was an excuse to keep his little one. He said, “I changed all the diapers in the hospital because it was like my excuse to steal her back. Someone else was holding her; she needs a diaper change, I’ll do it, and then I’ll keep her.”
The first-time Dad divulged his reaction when he first met his little one. He said, “I just got chills. My heart was full. I was just so grateful she was obviously in one piece and healthy, and it’s a miracle.”
He continued, “You’re almost in a state of like happy shock, you know? And then you wake up the next morning, and like,, ‘Wait, it’s real. Yeah, that’s ours!’”
The “Banshee” star opened up about his sentimental moment with his baby. He said he was moved to tears when his daughter had her first bath. Also, he was emotional whenever he saw how blessed he was—his daughter, his partner, and then their furry kids.
When asked to measure how much he was into his daughter, on a scale of one to ten, the actor broke the scale, replying “eleven.”
There’s no denying that the actor is so into his daughter, and even Cuoco confirmed it. Some days after their daughter’s birth, the “8 Simple Rules” actress uploaded pictures of Matilda and her daddy relaxing together. In the caption, the new mom dubbed her girl a “Daddy’s Girl.”
The ‘Flight Attendant’ Actress And Her Partner Enjoyed Their First Holiday As Parents
Cuoco and Pelphrey’s daughter arrived a few days before the Easter celebration. As such, the pair spent the holiday as first-time parents. The pictures the “Charmed” actress uploaded showed that she and her partner were over the moon about spending the day with their child.
In the first image with a “Happy Easter” gif, the trio was seen enjoying time by the poolside in their home. The “Iron Fist” actor, who rocked a casual gray t-shirt and black pants with dark shades, held onto little Matilda, who sported a pastel-colored dress and bow.
The “Flight Attendant” star stood beside Pelphrey, donned a flowing white dress with floral prints. She kept a natural look and tied her blonde tresses in a bun. Cuoco, equally obsessed with her newborn, placed her left hand on the little girl and kissed her head.
Stealing attention for itself was a stunning jewel on Cuoco’s ring finger, which might be hinting she plans on walking down the aisle soon. Pelphrey’s ring finger also had a similar gem on it.
The lovely ring was also displayed in another image the Emmy-nominated actress shared. In the photo, she wrapped her left arm around her handsome man, still holding a yawning Matilda.
While the lovebirds may be planning to tie the knot, they continue to enjoy their new parenthood life.
