Jennifer Lopez Seemingly Shades Ben Affleck With Breakup Song

Jennifer Lopez shared a video of one of her songs, and the lyrics seem to hint at her marriage troubles with actor Ben Affleck.

In the song, Lopez sings about taking control and being in the driver’s seat, further fueling rumors about a possible divorce.

The music throwback from Jennifer Lopez comes after she and Ben Affleck spent the fourth of July away from each other.

As rumors of a possible split continue to swirl, the “Hustlers” actress took to her Instagram account on Sunday to celebrate the anniversary of her 2021 song “Cambia El Paso.”

The throwback clip featured Lopez sizzling in a silver bustier and denim shorts as she played and rolled on a beach.

While it looked like a casual throwback video, the lyrics of the song seemed to hint at her troubled marriage.

When translated from Spanish to English, one line of lyric reads, “Her life is better now without him … she doesn’t need anyone to be well / She does not fail, she does not fail.”

Lopez sings in another part of the song, “He doesn’t deserve to have her in his arms.”

Lopez and Affleck haven’t been seen together in public for over a month now, although the “Let’s Get Loud” singer continues hanging out with other people.

Following her return from a European vacation, where she was seen sunbathing on a boat ride with friends, she proceeded to the Hamptons, New York, where she was seen shopping for plants with her manager, Benny Medina.

She also joined some friends for a late lunch at Sant Ambroeus last week before driving off in her jeep.

Lopez and Affleck notably spent the Fourth of July holidays apart. She remained in the Hamptons while the “Argo” actor stayed back in L.A. and dined alfresco with his children, Violet and Fin.

Over the weekend, the “Maid In Manhattan” actress also enjoyed a bike ride with pal Stevie Mackey, although she spotted her wedding band. She was dressed in a casual chic outfit and posed on matching, cream-colored bicycles as the vocal coach.

Mackey shared a photo of their outing and captioned it with a bicycle, sunflower, and lavender emojis, writing, “Good times, good friends, good wheels.”

Lopez’s stay in New York may soon turn permanent if her divorce from Affleck progresses.

A source close to the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer told In Touch that she may likely relocate to New York and rekindle old flames with former partner Alex Rodriguez.

The insider added that Lopez had been “pushing for a full-time move to New York” even before her rumored troubles with Affleck and has now “decided to go ahead with that after the split.”

“She’ll probably keep a place in L.A. but she needs to get away from all the noise and the scrutiny on the West Coast,” the insider said.

Lopez’s children, Emme and Max, are another reason the entertainer may move to the Big Apple as the city would seemingly afford them a “fresh start,” alongside everything they’ve enjoyed in Los Angeles.

“There’s nothing to stop her from taking the kids and making a fresh start back in New York,” the insider added. “They’ve got plenty of schools back east, and she’s got a great social circle there.

Amid news of Affleck and Lopez’s marriage troubles, sources claim that the singer’s family members, especially her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, are urging her to jump off the sinking ship.

“Jennifer’s mom told her, ‘Cut your losses and move on to avoid getting any deeper in this mess,'” an insider dished to the Daily Mail.

According to the source, Rodriguez also told the Hollywood star that “she’s wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor,” seemingly referencing her daughter’s decision to marry Affleck after their first canceled engagement.

The insider added, “He was not the person she built him up to be. It’s taken too much of a toll on her, and because of this, she has lost sight of who she is and what she stands for.”

A source recently told Page Six that their marriage has been “over for months,” but the “Good Will Hunting” actor remains “very protective of Jennifer.” Putting it more precisely, the insider noted that the pair have been apart since March.

Another source told People magazine that they’re “focused on their separate lives” and that the couple “don’t have any summer plans together,” as evidenced by their recent distance.

The insider added that Lopez “enjoyed her trip to Europe” and that she “has more travel planned.”
