AN eighties movie icon looked unrecognizable as she was spotted on a rare outing in LA this week – but can you guess who she is ?

The 72-year-old has had major roles in TV and film over the years, even voicing an famous children’s character.

But her most iconic tole was in the 80s movie franchise, Ghostbusters.

Yes, that’s right, it’s none other than Annie Potts, who played quirky receptionist Janine Melnitz – a scene-stealing role she even repreised in the 2024 reboot alongside Paul Rudd and Bill Murray.

Annie looked effortless in a casual all black outfit as she walked the streets of Los Angeles, finishing off her low key look with a bright yellow handbag and a pair of classic white trainers.

Annie also had notable credits in the 1986 flick Pretty in Pink, playing the character of Iona alongside Molly Ringwald

But fans may not know that Annie was the iconic voice behind the character Bo Peep from Disney’s Toy Story.

Throughout her long standing career, the movie star has also picked up many accolades, including nominations for a Golden Globe award and a Critics Choice award. 

Born in Missouri, Annie first shot to fame in 1978 when she made her acting debut in the film Corvette Summer.

Four years later, she starred in the comedy Heartaches for which she won a Genie award.

Annie has not just had success in film though – she’s also made a name for herself on TV.

She starred in the sitcom Designing Women, which ran for seven years, and Love & War.

The hard-working actress has also popped up in various other hits over the years, including Two And A Half Men, Law & Order: SVU and Ugly Betty.

TV fans may also recognize her as Meemaw in the comedy series Young Sheldon, a spin off The Big Bang Theory, which follows genius Sheldon Cooper’s life as a child. 

The prequel premiered in 2017 and starred Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Raegan Revord, Montana Jordan, and Emily Osment.

Last year the show, which aired on CBS in the US, bid viewers an emotional farewell after seven successful seasons.

In a previous interview with Variety, Annie admitted that the cast felt “totally ambushed” by the networks decision.

“If a show is starting to drag or lag or have a lack of stories or whatever, then you kind of see it coming.

“We were totally ambushed by this. I was, anyway.”
