Ben Affleck Is ‘Focusing’ On Daughter Violet’s College Prep Amid Split Rumors

Amid rumors of a potential split from his wife, Jennifer Lopez, actor Ben Affleck is said to be focusing on what matters most to him at this time—his kids.

With his eldest daughter, Violet Affleck set to take the next big step in her educational journey, the devoted dad is pouring his energy into preparing her for college.

Ben Affleck reportedly jetted off with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their children to help Violet settle into college.

According to reports, the “Argo” actor is very busy preparing Violet for her freshman year as she prepares to resume classes soon at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

The Oscar winner became embroiled in rumors of a potential divorce with Lopez just three months after the couple put up a united front while attending Violet’s high school graduation ceremony.

On Monday, a source told People magazine that Affleck “has been very focused on getting Violet ready for move-in.”

“It’s, of course, a huge deal for the whole family, and they’ve all been so excited the last few weeks,” the insider added.

Affleck was all smiles as he joined his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their children, Violet and Fin [Seraphina], in Connecticut over the weekend. They were seen strolling around the city, seemingly familiarizing themselves with Violet’s new environment.

According to the Daily Mail, the “Gone Girl” star was without his wedding ring but looked cheerful and vibrant as the four of them dined outside at the restaurant South Bay before going on a casual stroll in the area. He was also seen embracing Fin at some point during the outing.

Affleck wore a button-down, slacks, and Nike trainers, while Garner wore a striped top, jeans, and smart black glasses. Despite her close bond with Violet, Lopez was seemingly absent for the family moment.

Violet is reportedly trying to save her dad’s strained marriage to her famous stepmom, Lopez, with whom she has a close relationship.

According to the Daily Mail, a source shared that the 18-year-old is “heartbroken” that the couple’s romance has soured. Violet also recently wore the “Jenny From The Block” singer’s 2023 D&G Valentine’s Day date dress as a sign of solidarity.

“Violet does wish her dad Ben would stay with JLo,” an insider said. “She wasn’t living in their house and did not see the extent of the breakdown, but she got extremely close to JLo over the past couple of years and it broke her heart when they split.”

“She is not going to stop talking to JLo and recently enjoyed time in the Hamptons with her,” the source continued. “Wearing her soon-to-be former stepmom’s Valentine’s Day dress was a bit of a statement – she knew what she was doing. Those close to her thought it was bizarre.”

Now that Violet has jetted off to Connecticut for school, it remains to be seen how she would influence her father’s troubled marriage with Lopez.

A source told the Daily Mail that the “Good Will Hunting” actor is indifferent about his daughter’s effort to reunite him and his wife, Lopez.

“Ben is neither bothered nor unbothered by Violet’s closeness with JLo, as Violet is an adult and can have relationships with anyone she chooses,” the source said. “Unfortunately for her, wearing JLo’s dress in public is not going to affect Ben’s divorce at all.”

Another source told the news outlet that Violet has been “championing them getting back together,” adding that she’s “a Daddy’s girl and a family first person and is best friends with JLo’s kids. She considers them her sister and brother.”

The Insider further told the news outlet that Lopez’s kids are also hoping the pair stay married due to their closeness to Affleck.

“Ben has been so amazing to Max and Emmie and is a wonderful father and father figure, so of course they would all love for their parents to find a way to be together,” the source alleged.

“This current hiccup is sad and despite it looking like things won’t heal, Violet is championing them getting back together. Wearing JLo’s dress was done on purpose,” they added.

However, Lopez and Affleck’s divorce papers have reportedly been “finalized but not yet turned in,” as the actor is said to be stalling on proceeding with it to “protect” her, which has seemingly left her angry. However, that didn’t stop her from stopping by Affleck’s home for his 52nd birthday anniversary last week.
