“Saturday Night Live” star Dana Carvey‘s son, Dex Carvey‘s official cause of death has been revealed, two months after his unfortunate passing.
Last year, the 32-year-old was found by first responders lying on the floor lying unresponsive on the floor of his bathroom after a 911 call by his girlfriend.
Following his death, his mom and dad paid tribute to him, noting how heartbroken they were by his loss.
Dex Carvey Died From Multiple ‘Drug Toxicity’
According to an official autopsy report, Dex Carvey passed away from “drug toxicity,” specifically from fentanyl, ketamine, and cocaine. His death manner of death has also been ruled an “accident.”
This discovery comes two months after his parents, Dana and Paula Zwargerman, mourned his passing in a heartfelt statement shared on social media.
They wrote at the time, “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old. Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things — music, art, filmmaking, comedy — and pursued all of them passionately.”
In the lengthy statement, Dana and Paula emphasized that their son “loved life” and that “when you were with him, you loved life too.” They noted that he “made everything fun” and, most importantly, “loved his family, his friends, and his girlfriend, Kaylee.”
“Dex was a beautiful person,” their statement continued. “His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. Will will miss him forever.”
Concluding, they extended their love to others who are struggling with addiction, saying, “To anyone struggling with addiction or who loves someone struggling with addiction, you are in our hearts and prayers.”
