The Nightmares have kickstarted their next era with the release of ‘Something In The Dark’, an anthem for the outsiders.
Ahead of their appearance at 2000trees next weekend, it’s the first new music from the Welsh noir-pop quintet this year.
Their 2023 debut album ‘Séance’ seeing them team up with Creeper‘s Will Gould, they’ve been making waves in the underground scene with their brilliantly brooding sound, and with ‘Something In The Dark’ they’re paying tribute to the misfits.
Speaking on the new track, vocalist and guitarist Adam Parslow has shared:
“‘Something In The Dark’ is a song for the outsiders, a song for those who don’t fit in – the misfits, weirdos and the nonconformists.
“The narrative of the lyrics tells the story of a young woman called “Blue” who one fateful day sees something that cannot be explained. This moment changes her forever and leaves her literally speechless from that point onwards. The song was influenced by our love of artists such as Gary Numan, Killing Joke and Heavens. The music video was inspired by our collective fascination with cult 90s television programmes like The X-Files & Twin Peaks.”
