Terrence Beasor, a character and voice-over actor best known for Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and his role in The Middle, has passed away. He was 89.
A representative informed Deadline that Beasor died on May 28 at his Santa Monica home, with his wife of over 55 years, actress Muriel Minot, by his side.
Throughout his 40-year career, Beasor graced numerous TV shows. In the 70s and 80s, his appearances included The Incredible Hulk, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hill Street Blues, Cheers, L.A. Law, Dynasty, Hunter, Knot’s Landing, Simon & Simon, and Murder, She Wrote.
His success extended through the ’90s and well into the 21st century, landing roles in Chicago Hope, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Scandal, Angie Tribeca, The Grinder, Hot in Cleveland, Scrubs, Gilmore Girls, The District, Suddenly Susan, and Days of Our Lives. He also had a recurring role on Fox’s Raising Hope.
He also lent his voice to several Star Trek series and video games and provided offscreen announcing for movies and TV shows such as The Gods Must Be Crazy, Jaws: The Revenge, Winchell, Coupe de Ville, Remington Steele, and Runaway.
Beasor was born on February 2, 1935, in Omaha, NE. His family relocated to Los Angeles when he was 7. He attended Garfield High School, served four years in the Navy, and in 1953, enrolled at the Pasadena Playhouse. At the age of 30, he moved to New York.

He met Minot in 1968 while performing consecutive shows at Equity Library Theatre. Beasor took great pride in the Actors’ Equity Association being his first union. The duo relocated to Concord, MA, for seven years, during which they co-directed numerous productions in the greater Boston area. In 1976, he earned his MFA from Brandeis University, after which they moved to Los Angeles.
The married couple collaborated on Days of Our Lives, Gangster Chronicles, The Practice, and appeared in several commercials and plays.
Instead of flowers, the family urges fans to donate in his name to the Entertainment Community Fund (formerly known as the Actors Fund). They added he would have wished for anything that supports actors.
