Northern Exposure is streaming for the first time ever. As of January, all six seasons of the series are now available on Prime Video with the majority of its original soundtrack.
Created by Joshua Brand and John Falsey, Northern Exposure starred Rob Morrow as a New York City physician who is forced to practice in a small town in Alaska in order to repay the state for underwriting his medical education. Over the course of its six season run between 1990 and 1995, the series won seven Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series in 1992.
As BrooklynVegan points out, Northern Exposure has never before been available on streaming. What’s more, previous DVD releases of the series excluded the original soundtrack due to licensing issues.
Northern Exposure also starred Janine Turner, John Corbett, Cynthia Geary, and John Cullum, as well as featured reoccurring appearances from Anthony Edwards, Graham Greene, Don McManus, Adam Arkin, and Valerie Mahaffey.
