Los Angeles-based indie outfit MyVeronica offers a powerful preview of their upcoming split EP Farewell Skylines with the emotionally raw new single ‘Sacred Heart.’
‘Sacred Heart’ is the latest release from MyVeronica, arriving ahead of the Farewell Skylines split EP with fellow LA band Friend’s House, due out August 8, 2025. The track showcases a more stripped-down, vulnerable side of MyVeronica, beginning with clean guitar tones and sparse instrumentation that slowly build into a soaring, cathartic release.
Alongside the single, MyVeronica has released a self-produced music video shot in Elysian Park, featuring sun-drenched footage of the band immersed in their hometown. The LA skyline shimmers in the background, underscoring the band’s deep connection to the city’s thriving music community.
“‘Sacred Heart’ is a practice of vulnerability, both musical and emotional. The use of clean tones and sparse arrangements cultivates an honesty that is beautiful and painfully raw. Moments of calm are interrupted by screaming guitars, echoing the volatile nature of life. This song is an expression of love, a reminder to hold on to the things that matter most. A reminder to choose love, even if it hurts.”
‘Sacred Heart’ sets the tone for Farewell Skylines, a collaborative EP that pays tribute to the spirit of the ’90s emo scene and the camaraderie of the LA indie circuit. MyVeronica will celebrate the EP’s release with a show at The Forge on August 8, following their performance at the Cut Fruits Festival on July 25.
Fans can stream ‘Sacred Heart’ now and pre-order Farewell Skylines ahead of its release.
