Producer Mark Ronson has revealed he is recovering in the hospital after injuring himself onstage during a recent DJ set. In a social media statement, he said he “popped two bicep tendons” after attempting to move a stage monitor with one arm.
“That time the house PA was so bad that I tried to one-hand turn the stage monitor towards the crowd mid-mix to give them some extra juice,” Ronson wrote on Instagram. “Turns out they weigh more than I thought… Two popped bicep tendons and one finished gig later, here we are, baby! #tornthisway”
Before his injury, Ronson had announced the release of Night People, a memoir about his upbringing in New York City in the ’90s, due out on September 25th. Pre-orders are ongoing.

The book’s description on US publisher Hachette Book Group’s site reads: “[Night People is] about the beauty of what you can create with just two Technics and a mixer, in a golden era before Giuliani, camera phones, and bottle service upended everything.”
“This book is my love letter to a vanished era that shaped not just my career but my identity — a time when finding my craft put me on the path to finding myself,” Ronson added on social media.
At last year’s Grammy Awards, Ronson took home a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for the Barbie soundtrack. Ronson was also nominated for Best Original Song for his production on Barbie’s “I’m Just Ken” at the 96th Academy Awards, and performed the track alongside Ryan Gosling, Slash, and Wolfgang Van Halen in that ceremony’s standout performance.
