Liquid Death to Give Away a Literal Fighter Jet

Liquid Death has announced a new promotional campaign that will take off this summer: a the giveaway of a literal fighter jet plane.

That’s right, folks, Liquid Death will make one lucky canned-water-drinker the owner of an Aero L-39C Albatros jet dubbed The Dehydrator, which is able to reach speeds around 470 mph with almost 4,000-foot pounds of thrust. Though it sounds unbelievable, the company is “not joking at all.”

The contest comes as a good-humored jab at Pepsi, which infamously went to court in the ‘90s after someone attempted to cash-in on an unserious commercial’s offer to dole out a fight jet prize (as depicted in the 2022 documentary Pepsi, Where’s My Jet?). Pepsi won that case and never gave out the aircraft, but now, Liquid Death is planning on doing what Pepsi never would. The FAQ for the contest even states “you won’t have to take us to court to get a jet.”

To win the jet yourself, all you have to do is purchase Liquid Death from a physical store, save the physical receipt, and upload it to a page on Liquid Death’s website. Each can is considered one entry (so, an eight-pack is eight entries). The contest begins today (May 21st) and will run until September 4th.

In addition to the plane itself, the winner will receive six months of free hangar space rental for The Dehydrator, a jet pilot’s helmet, a cup holder “that’s perfect for a can of Liquid Death,” and a year’s supply of Liquid Death. Additionally, if you’re not sure how much flying you really want to do, you have the option to take an alternative prize of $250,000 instead.

Previously, Liquid Death has earned a reputation for unique ad campaigns, like grannies playing death metal and a partnership with Travis Barker to sell enemas.
