Bristol-based rock outfit Krooked Tongue is back with their latest single ‘You Don’t Need A Sun Tan.’ The track marks the band’s first release since April’s well-received ‘Marigold‘ and serves as the latest preview of their anticipated debut album, due out in early 2026.

Recorded with longtime producer Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, ‘You Don’t Need A Sun Tan’ channels a rich dose of ‘90s nostalgia. Propelled by driving fuzz guitars, explosive drumming, and soaring hooks, the track explores the tension between comfort and ambition. Vocalist and lyricist Oli Rainsford captures this duality with lyrical snapshots of revisiting old haunts, meeting familiar faces, and feeling the subtle urge to break away from the past. The result is a gritty yet melodic rock anthem that resonates with anyone caught between staying put and chasing the unknown.

Rainsford explains:

“The idea behind ‘You Don’t Need A Sun Tan’ came about after visiting the town I grew up in one summer weekend. Meeting up with your old mates, getting leathered at the pub, and realising that everything is almost exactly how it was when you left… I think ‘Sun Tan’ also acts as a word of encouragement for people to get out from under the weight of what they know, and discover what they don’t know yet.”

‘You Don’t Need A Sun Tan’ continues to build anticipation for their debut LP out in early 2026. Fans can catch the band live on July 6th at Keynsham Music Festival, with more live dates expected as momentum grows ahead of the 2026 album release.
